Folk of Waelmist

These are the folk of Waelmist.

Bogfolk

Farmers and herbalists. They can’t be trusted because they’re all witches and consorting with dark and mysterious forces.

Cityfolk

Merchants, scholars, thugs. They think that just because they’re safe behind their walls with their books that they’re better than the rest of us.

Hillfolk

Miners, inventors, warriors. They can’t be trusted because they’ll run you through for the sake of honor.

Lakefolk

Shipwrights, divers. They can’t be trusted because they’re naive and they’ve never seen true danger.

Mountainfolk

Stonecutters, hermits. They can’t be trusted because they’re all part troll, a terrible evil in this land.

Riverfolk

Traders, fishmongers. They can’t be trusted because they’re greasy as the eels they catch and smell just as bad.

Seafolk

Fishermen, sailors, bards. They can’t be trusted because they’ll never be straight with you if they can think of a better story, and they can always think of a better story.

Underfolk

Why are you talking about underfolk? Underfolk don’t exist. No one’s ever lived in the caves.

Valleyfolk

Sheperds and herdsmen. They can be trusted, so long as you don’t ask them anything complicated or let them near your livestock.

Wanderfolk

Nomads, storytellers, and outcasts. They can’t be trusted because they won’t settle down and they’re all beggars and thieves.

Wastefolk

Bandits and raiders. Life is harsh and there is no way to work the land. They can’t be trusted because they’ll cut your throat and take your money.

Woodfolk

Huntsmen and woodcutters. They can’t be trusted because it’s not enough to hunt and kill animals in the dark of the forest, sometimes they go after people too.
